Medical Alert & Response

• You own the Medical Alert System. You control its use.
• No rental fees.
• No expensive failure to return fees. See under "The Others" in the section below.
• When you no longer need our service you can 1) Sell the Medical Alert System 2) Give it to another family member or friend 3) Sell it back to us. Yes, that's correct. After one year of service we will happily purchase the Medical Alert System back from you.
• Over time, 2 years and beyond, Medical Alert & Response is far less expensive to use then the rental companies. See below.
• When we say $19.95 for monthly monitoring, we mean it. No extra charges if you add additional equipment like an extra Pendant or smoke detectors. Of course You'll have to pay for the items, but the monthly service fee will not increase.
• No requirement for you to have to pay for the first 6 months of service, regardless if you use the service or not. Most of "the others" will require the first 6 months paid in advance. We do not.

The Others

• Expensive rental fees. They own the Medical Alert device and control its use, not you, the customer.
• Very expensive "failure to return charges". If you cancel the service, you have agreed in the contract that you will return the Medical Alert Alarm at your expense, within 5-7 business days. If you do not do this, they have the right to automatically charge your credit card or bank account from $300.00-$700.00. The amounts vary from company to company. Read the agreement they have you sign. Usually you can find it under the "cancellation" clause.
• Over time, renting becomes much more expensive compared to buying from Medical Alert & Response. See below.
• Monthly rental fees increase with the addition of alarm equipment, for example an extra Pendant or you added a smoke detector.

As the chart demostrates, for the same Medical Alert/Life Alert systems and similar monitoring services, it's a better economic decision to buy from Medical Alert & Response than it is to rent from the others. The $411.00 savings over three years is 32% less expensive, which amounts to $11.41 a month less. The savings increase even more over additional time of service, or if you are paying more than the $34.95 a month.

I’m sure you don’t remember me but I’m in my 30’s and am wheelchair bound due to having Multiple Sclerosis (MS). I’m married but my wife works leaving me at home for extended periods of time. That’s why we bought the personal emergency alarm system and subscribed to the central station monitoring.
